Solar power is growing rapidly across the nation, including here on Mt. Desert Island. But confusion still exists regarding solar power in Maine and how well it works for homes and businesses here. This program will bring together several of Maine’s own solar energy experts to discuss how solar panels work, what makes a good site, how much solar systems typically cost, how solar owners are compensated for the power they generate, what financing options and incentives are available, and what the future for solar looks like.
Organized by A Climate To Thrive (ACTT), this timely program will include Ken Colburn, an energy and environmental consultant and member of ACTT’s Advisory Board; John Luft, Branch General Manager for ReVision Energy; Vaughan Woodruff, Owner of Insource Renewables; and other ACTT participants.
ACTT is an MDI-wide community grassroots organization dedicated to protecting and improving our island’s environment, economy, and quality of life by helping MDI to become energy independent by 2030.
Light refreshments will be provided.
