We hope you will join us as we celebrate ten years of community-driven climate action. Events begin in late May, with opportunities to gather, create, collaborate, celebrate, and set the foundation for the next decade of action.
Maine Climate Action Now
We had so much fun gathering and creating together on May 28th at Hidden Barn Books! Thank you to our host (what a great bookstore!) and to all the artists who led workshops!
May 29 was a beautiful evening under open sky and around the fire at the 10th Anniversary Concert with GoldenOak. Huge thanks to the band, to The Community School for hosting the event, and to everyone who stood and spoke before the concert as we reflected on a decade of community action!
Community Gear Swap and Repair Cafe
Saturday, June 13, 9:00a.m. - 1:00p.m. at and co-hosted with the Northeast Harbor Library
The community is invited to bring loved but outgrown items in good condition for a gear swap focused on sports and outdoor items and equipment, as well as to bring worn down textiles, appliances, bicycles, small furniture, and more to learn from experienced volunteers on how to mend your long-loved belongings. Join the community to enhance the life of your gear and belongings as we work together to reduce waste and the emissions associated with the production of goods and to build networks of care.

Youth (under 30) are invited to join A Climate to Thrive to explore climate justice action in their schools and communities, how A Climate to Thrive can support their work, to establish regional networks for collaboration, and to explore the connection between local work and state policy and ways they can get involved in shaping state policy with a climate justice focus.
Climate Conversation & Vegan Potluck
Thursday, July 16th, 5:30 p.m. at The Stone Barn in Bar Harbor
We are excited to collaborate with the MDI Vegan Supper & Social Club to host a vegan potluck and climate conversation in the park! Shifting to a more plant-based diet is one of the most impactful ways to address climate change at the individual level. Come by the Stone Barn Farm Thursday July 16th at 5:30 p.m. to share your favorite vegan meal and discuss local climate action topics of your choosing! Don't worry if you don't have a dish to bring - there will be plenty for all to enjoy!
Community Local Food Potluck and Regional Climate Solutions Brainstorm
POSTPONED: Due to forecasted rain, we are postponing the potluck event to early this fall, with similar timing to last year’s potluck. We hope to see you there - stay tuned for a new date and time!
Join ACTT for a local food potluck organized around three courses with the opportunity to dive into collaborative brainstorming on three different regional climate solutions topics: building community resilience and connectedness in preparation for climate impacts; a clean, affordable, resilient energy system; and solid waste reduction and management. We hope folks from throughout the Hancock County region will join us to consider best collaborative approaches to addressing each topic - and to enjoy delicious local food! As this event is organized around three courses, we encourage those planning to attend to sign up for a specific course within the potluck. Thank you!
